Mr. Tolzien joined Sunbelt in April 2007, bringing over 35 years of experience in a variety of executive management, operations, and financial roles with mergers and acquisitions, public and private offering, turnaround, and growth company experience. Mr. Tolzien, a Certified Public Accountant, earned a B.S. in Accounting from the University of Illinois. Prior to joining Sunbelt, Mr. Tolzien held senior executive roles at the following firms: TraveLeaders, President. TraveLeaders, a $300 million corporate travel management company, operated in 10 states and provided full-service travel consultation to large corporations. Mr. Tolzien led acquisition negotiation, due diligence, and post-close integration of 20 small to medium sized companies in 14 months, and successfully re-negotiated $40 million in debt out of default post “9/11”. Dancing Bear Investments, Operations & Finance Director. Dancing Bear is a private investment vehicle specializing in early-stage business investments. Alamo Rent A Car, Senior Vice President of North American Operations. Alamo was a $1.5 billion global car rental company with company-owned operations around the globe. While at Alamo, Mr. Tolzien led negotiation support, due diligence, and post-close financial integration for the $650 million sale of the company to AutoNation (NYSE: AN), and headed domestic operations subsequent to the sale. Commonwealth Capital Partners, Regional Director. Commonwealth is a private investment fund focusing on turnaround opportunities. As acting CEO/CFO on two turnaround assignments, Mr. Tolzien closed/refranchised locations, reduced payroll/overhead costs, revitalized sales/marketing processes and maximized investor returns on both. Budget Rent A Car, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Budget, a $1.2 billion global car rental company, ranking fourth in United States market share during his tenure. At Budget, Mr. Tolzien led all financial aspects of a management-sponsored LBO from Transamerica, a subsequent IPO, and the ultimate sale of the public company to Ford. In addition, he successfully negotiated and closed on a 36 bank syndication of a $750 million credit line for foreign vehicle financing, acquisitions, and general corporate purposes. |
